The main reasons diets don’t work, and in fact make you fat, have to do with your individual metabolism, your genetics, and your living habits. Is it true that a “calorie is a calorie is a calorie?” Yes. And no. Is it true that there are “good” and “bad” fats? Yes. Is it also true that there are a lot of confusing, strange and very expensive “solutions” to our weight problems–and none of them work permanently? Yes.
Bottom line: People will not lose weight without A) reducing caloric intake, while B) moving more.
Most of the problem, for many of us, lies in issue A). I don’t know about you, but I will NOT eat things, consistently, that do not taste good to me. I cannot exist on a diet of wheat grass, tofu, arugula and fill-in-the-blank icky so-called “health food.” I can’t do much to help you with issue B). But I’m going to do the best I can to help with issue A). I can share with you recipes, and common-sense steps we can take that will help us to change–because THAT is the key–change.
Bad news: This is hard.
Good news: It works, and you never have to be fat again.
